Sweeping after meals helped. However, a few days later I noticed them in the living room coming in through the window. I immediately called management who sent out pest control right away. Whatever it was that they sprayed only worked overnight. The next morning they were back. Pest control wouldn't be able to come out for another week and I could not stand the thought of ants crawling eveywhere, so I took to my trusty friend Google.
I google natural ways to get rid of ants. A bunch of things came of from coffee grounds to vinegar. I stuck to the vinegar. It calls for one part water and one part vinegar. You're supposed to spray it in the area and watch the ants disappear. I did not have a spray bottle though so I took to a sponge. I soaked the sponge in my mixture and washed the entire window area. For about 3 hours they would show up again but it would be less of them. After I continuously washed the are with vinegar they have completely disappeared.
On Friday morning I woke up to a bunch of ants lining up to attack our kitchen garbage. After cleaning the area and the garbage can out I made the vinegar mixture and poured it over the cracks near the slidding door entrance and mopped the step with some. Low and behold no more ants. I still make it a point to not leave any food out and to sweep after every meal. After all it's Florida those f*ckers are everywhere. 😊
Give it a shot. Let me know how it works for you! Xoxo
