A few months after the baby was born he was definitely ready and was sure to let us know by refusing diapers. Transitioning him was a process especially for through the night, but he did well. Has been fully potty trained for a few months now. Because I had gotten him used to the potty being in the kitchen due to the fact that our apartment has the bathroom upstairs I have been wondering how to break that habit. Just how would I get him to potty upstairs instead of depending on it being downstairs.
Well like everything else he decided that himself. About a week ago he came up to me and told me he needed to use the bathroom. I asked him to potty and he said "no mom bathroom upstairs." Little by little he trained himself to walk up the stairs to the bathroom and call us if he needed us.
Part of me is grateful. I was really starting to get tired of cleaning that thing out and keeping it away from the baby. The other part of me is a bit sad. Why is my 2 year old so grown? I suppose I've helped him with that, but it is my duty to not make him feel limited.
