I am beyond frustrated. I just want answers. Although he seems to hear better some of his behaviors keep getting more consistent. He still taps his ears a lot. Could be because they have not healed properly. I am still waiting on speech therapy...yes it's been over a month now and I have yet to receive word from this therapist. I was hoping to get some answers today, and instead was sent with, "oh we're not in network with your insurance, so we won't see him anymore after your next visit."
I have taken it upon myself to make moves to get him evaluated. Everyone around me seems to think I am crazy and he will outgrow all of this and I'm overreacting. However, I feel that time is of the essence and it would not hurt to get an evaluation on my concerns even if the final decision is that he's not on the spectrum. I rather hear that then waste precious time. What if he is on it? The earlier intervention is made the better we'll be able to treat him.
I have contacted the early intervention program in my county and I'm waiting on a call from our local coordinator to schedule a home visit. After the home visit I was told a clinical evaluation will be done to determine which kind of therapy he will benefit from. I'm glad I took this step. As I've been told I am his only advocate. I have to fight to get answers for him.
As soon as this home visit happens I will update on him again.
As always,
Xoxo
